The goal of my project is to check whether the β-particles coming from atomic nuclei are really electrons. I did this using a homemade β-spectrometer. I set up all experiments alone, but for safety reasons the experiments were conducted by my physics teacher.
I was able to show that all experiments were safe when conducted properly and that β-particles are indeed relativistic electrons.
