Molecular genetic techniques are an essential tool for biotechnology. Applications include DNA sequencing, genetic fingerprinting and the creation of recombinant DNA.
The aim of our project is to translate molecular genetics to the classroom by developing a school experiment that allows students to study their own DNA. Exploring this field experimentally will enable students to relate to this complex area of biotechnology.
