Abstract

Intelligent Wildlife Watch

Lucy Fischer

project report

Artificial intelligence (AI) and nature, can this fit together? My "Intelligent Wildlife Watch" makes it possible.

It uses AI to protect wildlife and to reduce collisions between humans and wild animals. Object detection enables the recognition, categorization and localization of animals. This contributes not only to environmental protection and tracking of biodiversity, but also assists forestry departments and environmentalists. Use of infrared radiation enables the observation of nocternal animals and precise, "around the clock" observations.

My initial focus is on wolves, deer and wild boars.
