Many cyclists die every year in accidents. Often these grave consequences result from a bad helmet or from cycling without a helmet. This is why I was already working on a better helmet last year, when I tested various materials and discovered that sugar is an excellent shock absorber. It is my goal for this year to build a proper crash helmet based on this work. I use an accelerometer for testing, which should show me whether I am on the right track.
