I watch something that you can't see!

project report

We set ourselves the goal of modifying a screen in such a way that its content is visible to one person, but not another. Often we want to look at things that others are not supposed to see and sometimes we do not want to see things that others are looking at. Therefore we studied how monitors work and then we disassembled one and removed the outer polarizing layer. The modified monitor looks white to the naked eye, but its content can be viewed clearly with polarizing glasses. This way, we achieved our initial goal. Furthermore, we found out that there are different kinds of polarizing monitors so that Mom could watch a murder mystery while Dad watches football - each without seeing the other video.
