Optimization of Yeast Conservation

This project aims to achieve efficient conservation of yeast. Conventionally, yeast is stored in a 10% salt solution, which requires a lot of space. Therefore, we are aiming for an equally efficient process that requires less space. We started with fresh yeast that we dried in an incubator for comparison. Now we want to put the yeast into a trehalose solution to see which proportion of the yeast cells die during the drying process. We intend to optimize the procedure in order to maximize the number of surviving cells.
