Abstract

Good Air - Good Performance

project report

When I read a news article highlighting the high concentration of carbon dioxide in German classrooms I knew the topic of my project. I wanted to measure the carbon dioxide concentration in my school and to find ways of reducing it, because "good air - good performance". I bought a cheap carbon dioxide sensor and recorded its readings using an Arduino Uno. Some of my measurements show disturbingly high carbon dioxide readings in classrooms. Therefore, I developed a circuit that lets fresh air in automatically when the carbon dioxide level is too high. In order to save energy, the ventilation system should include a heat exchanger.
