The aim of this project is to use microwaves for targeted and fast drying of moist walls consisting of various materials. This approach could also be used for mould removal as microwaves are transmitted through multiple layers and can kill mould. The novel dehumidifier was constructed based on a microwave by replacing the part that does not contain any electronics with a pyramid-shaped cone that directs the microwave radiation into the targeted wall. This project is motivated by the flood in my hometown in July 2021. During the reconstruction there was a shortage of dehumidifiers and those that were available were slow and could not target problem areas.
