This is a continuation of my project "Popcorn-based Insulation" from last year. Climate change and its effects require changes in all areas of life. Environmentally friendly use of resources and energy in manufacturing of materials is more important than ever and renewable resources play an increasingly important role. I was able to further improve my experiments on popcorn-based thermal insulation and to test its utility for sound insulation. My preliminary results indicate that popcorn is suitable as environmentally friendly insulation material for a variety of application areas. I see room for further optimisation with regard to fabrication of popcorn insulation.
