    Sebastian also submitted his "Jugend forscht"-project to the student competition "Energie im Wandel - Wasserstoff- und Brennstoffzellentechnologie", which is an initiative of NOW GmbH (National Organization Hyrogen and Fuel Cell Technology). Jugend forscht winners of the state level special award "Hydrogen, Fuel Cell and Battery-electric Vehicles" were eligible for this award. The prize was awarded on October 8th 2012 as part of the f-cell conference in Stuttgart.

    Hannah Thillmann and Pia Demary decided not to participate in the final in München due to the upcoming Abitur exams. Therefore Paulina Banszerus won the award for the project of greatest creative value, which is endowed with € 10 000, in Munich by herself. Veronika Stein received € 1000 for the chemistry lab.

    Paulina was awarded the 1st place for the best engineering project, which is endowed with € 4000. This award ceremony took place on 24th September 2012 at St. Michael-Gymnasium.

    Anne and Jens developed their "Jugend forscht"-project further and submitted it to the BundesUmweltWettbewerb entitled "The dye-sensitized solar cell – learning from nature – acting sustainably!". The advancement award of € 250 was awarded on 15th September 2012 in the Nakundu hall of the Urwald-Life-Camp at the edge of the National Park Hainich near Eisenach.
